Although most of Florida's tornadoes are of the weaker variety, it is always best to be prepared for the worst when it comes to weather safety. As we approach spring, we also approach the season in which the most powerful tornadoes may strike! Here are a few safety tips in the event that you are under the threat of a tornado.

• Always have an emergency kit nearby, this may include a flash light, batteries, first aid supplies, water, etc.
• Stay up to date on weather patterns and warnings, it is also a good idea to have a battery operated radio on hand.
• Find a safe place within your home to hunker down in, an interior room away from windows or glass doors on the lowest floor of your home.
